Folklore with the X-Factor! Every year in early December, the horned demonic creature known as Krampus visits. He is the traditional companion of St Nicholas – an evil looking sadistic creature that punishes children who have misbehaved. In Klagenfurt this has evolved into an annual extravaganza attracting over 1000 such demons with their historic carved masks and costumes. It turns the inner city into a ghoulish spectacle you don’t want to miss.
Fancy a decent dose of culture? Our regional theatre regularly offers renowned productions of outstanding artistic merit. A visit won’t disappoint!
